Message I sold my '90 300ZX Twin Turbo with 132,000 miles on it several weeks ago.

I almost bought a '98 Camaro Z28 about one week ago. However, I saw an ad for a '95 N/A 300ZX with 16,700 miles on it. The Z was just in beautiful condition, and although the Z28's LS1 motor is terrific, the car feels like I'm driving a boat! I just felt very disconnected from the driving experience in the Z28. So, I bought the 300ZX!

The issue is this: I want 300-320 RWHP from the '95 N/A 300ZX. No offense to the guys who own the Twin Turbo (it is a great car), but I don't want the inevitable issues that crop up with the turbos, and the HICAS system I can do without. Basically, I want to keep the drivetrain system simple (no turbos, no HICAS). I realize that intake, exhaust, headers, underdrive pulley, and chip will put me at about 290 flywheel HP. So, what I want to do is this: have the 3.0L V6 bored and stroked, ported and polished; etc., along with a trick cam, with intake, exhaust, headers, and chip. This combo. will put me easily in the 300-320 RWHP range.

The question: where can I go to do it? SGP racing was not very much help (I tried them already). Avalon racing (I'm still waiting for a price quote) was a little more helpful. I live in New Jersey.

Can anyone help me? What (ballpark) will the costs be for this type of work?

Thanks for your help!
